Sleeping Beauty: a film inspired by a novel by Gabriel García Márquez

A film inspired by the novel Memorias de mis Putas Tristes (Memories of my Melancholic Whores) by Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, makes its debut in the Cannes Film Festival. Sleeping Beauty is the debut of Australian director Julia Leigh.

Sleeping Beauty the movie, competes with 19 films for the Palme d'Or of the French film festival, and tells the story of Lucy, a young student who in need money, becomes involved in a network of "Sleeping Beauties". There she begins to work as luxury prostitute for millionaires in their mid-sixties in physical decrepitude.
