Alejandro Falla, first Colombian to ever qualify to Rolland Garros´ 3rd Round.

Today Alejandro Falla matched his personal Grand Slam record, when he got through to the third round of Australian Open in 2010. 27 year old Falla, who is currently 120th in the ATP ranking, brilliantly and against all odds beat german player Florian Mayer, 4-6, 7-6, (7/4), 6-1 and 6-2.

“I´m super happy for being in third round now. I´m also happy with my game this past week and a half. Today´s match has been a very important one. Mayer has been in his “A Game” in dirt, he won in Dusseldorf and he is ranked 19. For me this really means a lot” said Falla, after the game.

Falla´s victory became a celebration, almost a party, first on the field and then in the press room, where Alejandro Falla gave interviews to the colombian press, both by telephone and in person. Falla was so on demand that he had to come back for a second round of interviews.
